Now entering its fourth year of unstoppable momentum, the Broom Dance International Film Festival has officially become the East Coast’s fastest-growing destination for horror, thriller, and elevated genre cinema. Our 2025 festivalβ€”only our third year in operationβ€”set a new bar for indie horror events nationwide. Rules & Terms

Although we are a Horror focused festival... All genres are accepted, we really want to curate a festival programmed with really well-made films, and showcase undiscovered talent.

Features.................................maximum length of...120 minutes.
Shorts.....................................maximum length of......30 minutes.
Short-Shorts..........................maximum length of......15 minutes.
Ultra Short -Shorts................maximum length of........5 minutes.

All short Horror scripts should have a maximum of 30 pages.
All short Crime scripts should have a maximum of 30 pages.

For student fees, it is mandatory the student status evidence (e.g copy of student card is included in the project).

The films must include English subtitles (unless the spoken language is English).

By submitting your film, you agree that: 𝐁𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐦𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐒𝐨𝐧𝐚π₯ 𝐅𝐒π₯𝐦 π…πžπ¬π­π’π―πšπ₯ : Can use parts of your film (including trailer/teaser/film poster) for promotional purposes.

1. Entry fees are non-refundable.
2. You own all the rights to the film.
3. You cannot withdraw your submission after the official selection announcement of each round.

(i) 𝐁𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐦𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐒𝐨𝐧𝐚π₯ 𝐅𝐒π₯𝐦 π…πžπ¬π­π’π―πšπ₯ has only one 3 day event every Halloween weekend in Salem, Massachusetts. Do not be fooled by any other similar named Festival represented by any other organization in a different state.

Important notice: By submitting to Broomdance International, we consider that the submitter owns all the rights to the film, meaning that the submitted work (i) does not violate or infringe any copyright, patent, privacy right, publicity right, trademark, service mark or any other personal or property right of any person or entity, that (ii) does not constitute or include a defamation of any person or entity, and that (iii) its representatives have paid and will pay in full all license fees, clearance fees, and other obligations, of any kind, arising from or associated with the exhibition of the Film at or in connection with the Festival. Also, that the submitter is duly authorized, on his own behalf and on behalf of all other persons or entities who have any ownership rights or interests (including, without limitation, intellectual property rights) in or relating to the film, to exhibit the film at the Festival.

    I wasn't able to attend this fest personally, but had a representative go- and she had a fantastic time! She was able to meet the fest programmer and enjoyed a ton of great movies. I really enjoyed how accessible the fest director was - we had a ton of great convos before the fest and all my questions were answered. Also, they have some killer swag.

    We were excited and honored to be part of this festival its first year. They do a great job of promotion and looping in filmmakers to their media appearances. Looking forward to watching this festival grow and, hopefully, to be a part of it in years to come.
