In a year when most festivals were still being held online because of the pandemic, the Broadstairs team planned an EXCEPTIONAL in-person festival and celebration of filmmakers being able to gather, once again, from around the world, to connect with each other and showcase their passion projects.

Everything was planned and managed with the highest standards of excellence - from the venue, to the food, to the location, and to the events. Even the magazine was well done and really beautiful.

Every person we interacted with was very helpful, kind and professional.

Had we not been even nominated or won any awards, it was a privilege just to be included in such a high-caliber film festival. Even as I write this, I am at a loss of words to thank the judges properly for the great honor they bestowed upon us with the nominations and the awards for Best Documentary and Best Feature Documentary as well as The Science Award for "The Great Suppression: How Covid-19 Reignited the Fight for Life & Liberty".

On behalf of the team, I want to thank Roy, Carl, Kaoru, and everyone who worked so hard to make the Broadstairs FFI festival so spectacular! We appreciate you caring so deeply about issues we are facing in our world and for honoring filmmakers who take on those issues!

This was one of the most enjoyable festivals I've ever been to. Broadstairs is such a pretty little town, with sandy beaches, cliff walks, and charming buildings where Charles Dickens visited...It was so great to actually meet people from all over the world again, after so many months of zoom only meetings...Carl Tooney and his team, Adam, Roy, Kaoru...managed to make the empty Tesco's building where they showed the films welcoming and interesting. Amazing to have earphones which could be tuned to different colours for the soundtrack to each film...So they made one big space into 3 separate screening rooms...The Awards Dinner was in neighbouring Margate, in a very friendly and lively local restaurant. The only problem was too much food, so probably quite a lot was wasted! But it was a great chance to network and meet a whole table of Americans, who had flown in just for this festival. I stayed at the Albion Hotel in Broadstairs, along with several of the other film makers. A wonderful hotel, right on the seafront, where we could be lulled to sleep by the sound of the waves! Altogether a very enjoyable and inspiring week - seeing some terrific films. And thanks for a couple of awards for 2 of my short films - Planting Trees in Tamil Nadu, and Black in Fashion. Feels great to have some acknowledgement.
