Unfortunately, I couldn't make it to the screening but the communication before and after the festival was great!

Thank you for showing the film I wrote, "Room For None", at your festival. I had a nice time and I hope to return in the future.

  • Communication is key with festivals. If communication is bad, you automatically assume the fest is going to be a waste of your time. But with the BSFF, that was not an issue. Communication was fast, thorough, professional and (A big plus) FRIENDLY!

    My only complaints:
    1) No Q+A with filmmakers. A big reason I go to fests is to ask filmmakers questions, and to talk about my film.
    2) I wish tickets for filmmakers were discounted more than what they discount them at BSFF.

Beyond those 2 minor complaints, the festival is friendly and accommodating and I would submit again.

  • This Festival really gave a chance to my short movie, which is not even a recent one. Not only did they give me an award, but they also sent me a Trophy and a check!
Communication with Hattie Diaz, the Festival Director, was marvelous. She's been very supportive and together we found the best way to transfer me the monetary award.
There's only one aspect I think this Festival could improve: they only and exclusively pay using checks from an US Bank. And there are countries, like mine, where these checks cannot be cashed and thus are useless. I would suggest using bank transfers instead, or even paypal.
