Brian Spatz is a screenwriter whose work spans many genres. Before turning to screenwriting, he spent nearly twenty years in the music industry following eight years of service in the United States Marine Corps.
After attending filmmaker Kevin Smith’s annual convention in Chicago in October and hearing his well-known “Why Not?” speech, Spatz found the motivation to finally pursue something he had long believed he could do—write movies and television. Around the same time he became attached as a co-producer on a short film, which further ignited the push to start writing in earnest.
What started as a long-held idea has quickly become a full creative pursuit, and he is currently developing multiple film and television projects while submitting his work to festivals and screenwriting competitions.
