Brian McDermott is a filmmaker, professor and former social worker. Brian's MFA thesis film on aging and assisted living, a work of fiction, was nominated by Temple University for a Princess Grace Award and screened at a number of festivals around the US including the Sarasota Film Festival and Moondance Film Festival at Universal Studios in Hollywood. Brian also directed and produced "Language Healers" and "We Are All Related Here" two award-winning documentary films on Indigenous rights and environmental issues.
Brian holds an MFA in Film and Media Arts from Temple University and an MSW in Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania. He is currently an Assistant Professor of TV/Film at DeSales University.
