We program strong independent stories from filmmakers all over the world. Our main focus is to screen international films alongside Bloomington's local and regional filmmakers.

Bloomington Indiana has a rich film industry. The Academy Award-winning film Breaking Away was released in 1979. Since then Bloomington has been the leading movie-making city in the state and region. While Bloomington is a small town, the optimistic and communal values of the residents carry into films. We aim to continue to enrich the traditions of Bloomington and Indiana Cinema.

BIFF's mission is to show local and regionally produced films on a global stage.

The Grand Biff's will be awarded to the Best Short Film and the Best Music Video.

A Grand BIFF award will also be awarded for the following categories.

Best International Feature Film
Best Local Feature Film

This is a great, community-oriented film festival!! Their lineup of both Indiana and International films was impressive. We were grateful to bring home the Grand BIFF award for Indiana docs!! We will definitely submit in the future.

We had such a wonderful time at Bloomington International Film Fest! Byron and his team were so welcoming. There were amazing films to see, super cool venues, ample opportunities to network with filmmakers and film lovers alike.

Our screening was one of the best looking and sounding that we've had! Every filmmaker knows how important that is and I couldn't have been happier with how the film was presented.

Also, The Grand BIFF, the award itself is amazing! The baby bison statue/plaque is definitely going on the mantle :)

Thank you to the BIFF team for such a fun and rewarding experience for us all!
