Horror film is a genre that aims to create a sense of fear, panic, alarm, disgust and dread for the audience.

There are four categories:
INDIVIDUAL KIDS (10-14yrs)
INDIVIDUAL MA+ TEENS (15-17yrs)
SCHOOLS (see www.bloodfest.co)
DRAMA SCHOOLS (see www.bloodfest.co)
For each Individual category first prize is:
• the Bloodfest Winner Trophy,
• FIVE HUNDRED CASH (AUD$500); and
• Online Mentorship Session with an Industry Professional.

Our sponsors and donors are the Australian Theatre for Young People (ATYP), Australia Cinematographers Society, EVENT Cinemas, AFTRS, Rode Microphones, BlackMagic Cameras, The House That Dan Built, BIGKids Magazine, Tickets Tonight, FilmInk, Sydney Opera House - Kids & Families, Parramatta Riverside Theatre and the Museum of Contemporary Art.
Films must be a max of 5 minutes (no minimum time length).
Films must be in the Horror or similar scary genre ie: Thriller, Suspense, Zombie.
The film score must be an original creation or free public domain sounds.
Films may only be entered ONCE in a lifetime into Bloodfest. (i.e. once you have submitted your film for Bloodfest, you cannot resubmit it in following years)
No graphics (including laureates and logos) from other film festival selections are permitted to be visible on your film submission for Bloodfest.
Once your film is submitted there are NO refunds.
Parent/guardian permission checked on submission of individual entries.
By submitting an Individual Entry you give Bloodfest permission to screen your film at the Bloodfest Gala Event and at any future Bloodfest events including on the Bloodfest offical website or any digital media, for the promotional purposes of Bloodfest Kids Horror Film Festivals.
By submitting a School entry you state that the school has full knowledge of the entry and has given the appropriate permission for the students to be involved and to represent the school. Submitting also means you agree that the film and stills can be shown on the Bloodfest offical website, and any digital media, and at any potential winner's school screening event, for the promotional purposes of Bloodfest Kids Horror Film Festivals.
