REGULATIONS IN ENGLISH: BLACK QUEER FESTIVAL
Short Films produced by filmmakers of any ethnicity or race, foreign filmmakers residing outside Brazil, or featuring Black, Indigenous, LGBTQ+ protagonists (cast), in the genres of fiction, documentary, animation, experimental film, or video art, with an age rating of up to 16 years and a maximum duration of 25 minutes. (credits included). Films must have Portuguese subtitles already included on the screen. We will not accept subtitle files separate from the film. Submissions for international films have a fee indicated on this page of the platform.
ENTRIES
1) Experimental Filmes will receive entries for the 2º Black Queer Festival between February 10 and June 20, 2026 until 11:59 p.m. (Brasília time).
2) Short films with a maximum duration of 25 minutes (credits included), made after January 1, 2015, with an age rating of up to 16 years old and that have a screening copy in a format that complies with the technical specifications set forth in these Regulations, are eligible for submission. The short films will be evaluated by the curators, who may direct the selected films to the exhibition that best suits the language and other artistic and technical requirements of the work.
3) BRAZILIAN FILMS: short films with a central LGBTQIAPN+ theme produced by black filmmakers in Brazil or with a black or indigenousLGBTQ+ protagonist (cast), in any state of the federation, in the fiction, documentary, animation, experimental or video art genres, with an age rating of up to 16 years and a maximum duration of 25 minutes (credits included) are eligible for submission. All films must have portuguese subtitles. We will not accept subtitle files separate from the film. Submissions for Brazilian films are free.
4) INTERNATIONAL FILMS: only films with a central LGBTQ+ theme produced exclusively by black foreign filmmakers residing outside Brazil or with a black LGBTQ+ protagonist (cast) in the fiction, documentary, animation, experimental or video art genres with an age rating of up to 16 years and a maximum duration of 25 minutes (credits included) will be selected. Films must have Portuguese subtitles already included on the screen. We will not accept subtitle files separate from the film. Submissions for international films have a fee indicated on this page of the platform.
5) Only a maximum of three films per director or group of directors will be accepted, so that in the case of entries exceeding the limit, the two most recent works will be considered.
6) Entries will be free and made exclusively on the platform https://filmfreeway.com/
7) The person responsible must inform at the time of registration, in a specific and available field, a link to view the film in full, as instructed by the registration platform, preferably YouTube, and also the access password, when applicable. File transfer links such as WeTransfer, Dropbox, SendSpace, or any other data allocation tool that has an expiration date for the generated link will not be accepted. Copies on physical media will not be accepted for registration.
8) YouTube videos with privacy set to “Private” will not be accepted, even if the username and password of the person responsible's email account are sent.
9) The Festival Organization is not responsible for problems contained in the link sent, access problems in general, incorrect or changed passwords during the registration and evaluation period, or security failures on the website. Should any of these problems occur, the film will be disqualified.
10) In the case of films with duplicate registrations, only the last registration received by the platform will be considered.
11) The person responsible for the registration must attach three to five images to promote the film in the field available on the platform. The attached images must be in JPG or PNG format, with a resolution of at least 300 dpi. At least two still images or artwork from the film, without text over the image, and one of the film's poster must be sent.
12) Make a trailer or teaser of up to 2 minutes in high quality available on the registration platform for use in promotional materials upon selection for one of our exhibitions.
13) Those responsible for the selected films must send the screening copy, when requested by the Festival Management, with the following technical specifications:
1. a) Formats: MP4 (HD or Full HD) with files up to 5 GB.
2. b) Support: Permanent links, hosted in the cloud, preferably Google Drive.
14) Any file format sent outside the recommended standard will be handled by the technical team and will be subject to inefficient rendering. The Black Queer Festival organization cannot be held responsible for any problems arising from this procedure.
15) All fields marked as mandatory (indicated on the registration platform) must be filled out, otherwise the registration will not be completed.
16) The list of selected works will be available on the Festival WEBSITE until JULY 20, 2026, and this deadline may be extended at the discretion of the Festival management.
17) Screening copies and promotional material must be sent by JULY 30, 2026.
18) The invitation to the selected filmmakers to personally represent their Black Queer Festival films will be sent by email. The organization will not cover any transportation, food or accommodation expenses.
19) The registration of films that are not completed before the production year of the works stipulated by the Black Queer Festival management is prohibited.
19.1 - There will be a parallel online screening (out of competition) on the festival's website for selected films produced between 2000 and 2014. There will also be additional screenings if the curatorship so requires, such as the "Other Views" screening, also on the festival's website, or additional screenings on partner platform websites.
20) The candidate is responsible for all information entered in his/her registration on the platform. By submitting the application, the applicant assumes responsibility for all copyrights, image rights, sound rights, soundtrack rights and other related rights generated by the production and exhibition of the work. Upon being selected, the person responsible for the work must sign a declaration with the information mentioned in this paragraph, authorizing the exhibition at the Black Queer Festival. The Declaration will be sent by email to the selected participants. Anyone who fails to send us the signed document within the requested deadline will be disqualified.
AWARDS
21) All films, regardless of genre or nationality, compete for the same symbolic awards:
Golden Fan - Best Film chosen by the Official Jury
Silver Fan - Special Jury Award
Black Fan - Special Mention by the Jury
There will be no cash prizes. Only a certificate will be given to the winners at the closing session of the Festival.
OTHER PROVISIONS
22) The Festival management may hold a traveling version of the Black Queer Festival. Films scheduled for the itinerant version may be chosen from those selected for the Festival, and the author of the work hereby authorizes their screening.
23) All information present on the registration platform, in addition to images of the films, may be used for advertising on the Festival website and in the media.
24) In the case of a selected film, the legal representative of the registered film authorizes its screening in the BLACK QUEER FESTIVAL program, as well as the use of images for journalistic purposes, advertising and promotion of the event.
25) According to Ordinance 368/2014 of the Ministry of Justice, films shown in exhibitions and festivals must self-classify in accordance with the “Practical Guide to Indicative Classification”. It is mandatory to inform the film's indicative classification, in compliance with these standards. The festival management is responsible for ensuring compliance with this measure and may even change this classification at the Festival's convenience to adapt to the standards. 26) Any technical failure noticed on the platform during the film submission process must be immediately reported to the Festival management via email at experimentalfbrasil@gmail.com so that the appropriate measures can be taken. We emphasize, however, that the Festival is not responsible for any failures when the submission is made on the last day of the deadline provided for in these Regulations.
27) * The depiction of animal abuse whether real or implied is not acceptable and will lead to automatic disqualification and loss of entry fee.
* The decision of the selection and awards committee is final.
* All entry fees are non-refundable.
* Entrants are responsible for securing all rights and permissions from copyright relating to their short.
* You must own all the rights to the film or have permission to use any songs included in your film.
* You agree to promote our festival on any and all social media pages.
* We retain the right to change the date and venue of the festival under special circumstances. All filmmakers will be informed about any changes through email and our online platforms.
*The Black Queer Festival will not sell, loan, or transfer your information to third parties.
*We will send an email requesting materials and a letter of authorization with a deadline. If we do not receive a response by the date provided by email, August 15, 2025, the film will not be screened and will be disqualified.
28) All works submitted to the BLACK QUEER FESTIVAL will be subject to the conditions set forth in these Regulations.

REGULAMENTO EM PORTUGUÊS: BLACK QUEER FESTIVAL
INSCRIÇÕES
1) Experimental Filmes receberá inscrições para o 2º Black Queer Festival entre 10 de fevereiro e 20 de junho de 2026 até às 23h59min (horário de Brasília).
2) Estão aptos a serem inscritos curtas-metragens com duração máxima de 25 minutos (créditos inclusos), realizados a partir de 1º de janeiro de 2015, com classificação etária até 16 anos e que tenham cópia de exibição em formato de acordo com as especificações técnicas previstas neste Regulamento. Os filmes de curta-metragem serão avaliados pela curadoria, que poderá direcionar os filmes selecionados à mostra mais adequada à linguagem e a outros requisitos artísticos e técnicos da obra.
3) FILMES BRASILEIROS: estão aptos a serem inscritos curtas-metragens com temática central LGBTQIAPN+ produzidos por cineastas negros em território brasileiro ou com protagonismo negro ou indígena LGBTQ+ (elenco), em qualquer Estado de federação, de gênero ficção, documentário, animação, experimental ou videoarte com classificação etária de até 16 anos e duração máxima de 25 minutos (créditos inclusos). As inscrições para filmes brasileiros são gratuitas. Todos os filmes possuam, obrigatoriamente, legendas em português. Não aceitaremos arquivos de legendas separados do filme.
4) FILMES INTERNACIONAIS, somente serão selecionados filmes com temática central LGBTQ+ produzidos exclusivamente por realizadores negros estrangeiros residentes fora do Brasil ou com protagonismo negro LGBTQ+ (elenco) nos gêneros de ficção, documentário, animação, animação, experimental ou videoarte com classificação etária de até 16 anos e duração máxima de 25 minutos (créditos inclusos). Os filmes devem ter legendas em português já inclusos na tela. Não aceitaremos arquivos de legendas separados do filme. As inscrições para os filmes internacionais têm uma taxa indicada nesta página da plataforma.
5) Só serão aceitos no máximo três filmes por realizador ou coletivo de realizadores, de forma que no caso de inscrições além do limite serão consideradas as duas obras mais recentes.
6) As inscrições serão gratuitas e realizadas exclusivamente na plataforma https://filmfreeway.com/
7) O responsável deverá informar no ato de sua inscrição, em campo próprio e disponível, um link para visualização completa na íntegra do filme, conforme orientação da plataforma de inscrição, preferencialmente YouTube, e também a senha de acesso, quando for o caso. Não serão aceitos links de transferência de arquivos como WeTransfer, Dropbox, SendSpace, ou qualquer outra ferramenta de alocação de dados que tenha prazo de expiração do link gerado. Não serão aceitas cópias em mídia física para a inscrição.
8) Não serão aceitos vídeos do YouTube com a privacidade definida como “Privado”, mesmo que seja enviado o usuário e senha da conta de e-mail do responsável.
9) A Organização do Festival não se responsabiliza por problemas contidos no link enviado, problemas de acesso em geral, senhas incorretas ou alteradas durante o período de inscrição e avaliação, ou falhas na segurança do website. Caso ocorra algum desses problemas o filme será desclassificado.
10) No caso de filmes com inscrição em duplicidade será considerada apenas a última inscrição recebida pela plataforma.
11) O responsável pela inscrição deverá anexar de três a cinco imagens para divulgação do filme em campo disponível na plataforma. As imagens anexadas devem estar no formato JPG ou PNG, com resolução de no mínimo 300dpi. Deverá ser enviado no mínimo duas imagens de still ou arte do filme, sem texto sobre a imagem, e uma do cartaz da obra.
12) Disponibilizar na plataforma de inscrição trailer ou teaser de até 2 minutos em alta qualidade, da obra inscrita para utilização em materiais de divulgação mediante seleção para uma de nossas mostras.
13) Os responsáveis pelos filmes selecionados deverão enviar a cópia de exibição, quando solicitado pela Direção do Festival, nas seguintes especificações técnicas:
1. a) Formatos: MP4 (HD ou Full HD) com arquivos de até 5GB.
2. b) Suporte: Links permanentes, hospedados na nuvem, preferencialmente, Google Drive.
14) Qualquer formato de arquivo encaminhado fora do padrão recomendado será tratado pela equipe técnica e estará sujeito a uma renderização ineficiente. A organização do Black Queer Festival não poderá ser responsabilizada por qualquer problema proveniente desse procedimento.
15) Todos os campos sinalizados como item obrigatório (apontados na plataforma de inscrição) devem ser preenchidos, sob pena de não conclusão de inscrição.
16) A lista de obras selecionadas estará disponível no SITE do Festival até o dia 20 de JULHO de 2026, sendo esse prazo prorrogável a critério da direção do Festival.
17) As cópias de exibição e o material de divulgação deverão ser encaminhados até o dia 30 de JULHO de 2026.
18) O convite aos realizadores selecionados para representar pessoalmente seus filmes Black Queer Festival será feito por e-mail. A organização não arcará com nenhuma despesa de transporte, alimentação ou hospedagem.
19) É vedada a inscrição de filmes que não estejam concluídos antes do ano de produção das obras estipulado pela direção do Black Queer Festival.
19.1 - Haverá mostra paralela online (fora de competição) no site do festival para filmes produzidos entre 2000 e 2014 que forem selecionados. Assim como mostras extras caso a curadoria haja necessidade como Mostra Outros Olhares também no site do festival ou mostra extra em sites de plataformas parceiras.
20) O candidato é responsável por todas as informações inseridas em sua inscrição na plataforma. Ao realizar a inscrição, o proponente assume a responsabilidade por todos os direitos autorais, de imagem, de som, de trilha sonora e pelos demais direitos conexos gerados pela realização e exibição da obra. Ao ser selecionado, o responsável pela obra deverá assinar uma declaração com as informações citadas neste parágrafo, autorizando a exibição no Black Queer Festival. A Declaração será enviada por e-mail aos selecionados. O responsável que não nos enviar o documento assinado dentro do prazo a ser solicitado, será desclassificado.
PREMIAÇÕES
21) Todos os filmes independente do gênero ou nacionalidade concorrem aos mesmos prêmios simbólicos:
Leque Dourado - Melhor Filme escolhido pelo Júri Oficial
Leque Prateado - Prêmio Especial do Júri
Leque Black - Menção Especial do Júri
Não haverá premiação em dinheiro. Somente certificado entregue na sessão de encerramento do Festival aos vencedores.
OUTRAS DISPOSIÇÕES
22) A direção do Festival poderá realizar uma versão itinerante do Black Queer Festival. Os filmes programados para a versão itinerante poderão ser escolhidos dentre os selecionados para o Festival, ficando desde já autorizada pelo autor da obra a sua exibição.
23) Toda informação presente na plataforma de inscrição, além de imagens dos filmes poderão ser utilizadas para divulgação no website do Festival e nos veículos de comunicação.
24) Em caso de filme selecionado, o representante legal do filme inscrito, autoriza a exibição na programação do BLACK QUEER FESTIVAL, bem como a utilização de imagens para fins jornalísticos, divulgação e promoção do evento.
25) Conforme Portaria 368/2014 do Ministério da Justiça, os filmes exibidos em mostras e festivais devem praticar a autoclassificação de acordo com o “Guia Prático da Classificação Indicativa”. É obrigatório informar a classificação indicativa do filme, em observação a essas normas. A direção do festival fica responsável por garantir o cumprimento dessa medida podendo, inclusive, alterar essa classificação conforme conveniência do Festival para adequação às normas. 26) Qualquer falha técnica percebida na plataforma durante a inscrição do filme deverá ser imediatamente comunicada à direção do Festival por meio do e-mail experimentalfbrasil@gmail.com para que as devidas providências sejam tomadas. Enfatizamos, porém, que o Festival não se responsabiliza por eventuais falhas quando a inscrição for realizada no último dia do prazo previsto neste Regulamento.
27) * A representação de abuso de animais, real ou implícito, não é aceitável e levará à desqualificação automática e à perda da taxa de inscrição.
* A decisão do comitê de seleção e premiação é final.
* Todas as taxas de inscrição não são reembolsáveis.
* Os participantes são responsáveis por garantir todos os direitos e permissões de direitos autorais relacionados ao seu curta.
* Você deve possuir todos os direitos do filme ou ter permissão para usar quaisquer músicas incluídas em seu filme.
* Você concorda em promover nosso festival em toda e qualquer página de mídia social.
* Reservamo-nos o direito de alterar a data e o local do festival em circunstâncias especiais. Todos os cineastas serão informados sobre quaisquer alterações por e-mail e nossas plataformas online.
*O Black Queer Festival não irá vender, emprestar ou transferir suas informações para terceiros.
*Enviaremos um e-mail solicitando materiais e carta de autorização com prazo de entrega. Caso não tenhamos retorno até a data informada por e-mail 15/08/2025, o filme não poderá ser exibido e estará desclassificado.
28) Todas as obras inscritas no BLACK QUEER FESTIVAL estarão sujeitas às condições previstas neste Regulamento.
