Biplab Das, 43, is a story writer and independent film director. "KALAMKATHI" is his first feature film. People associated with different stages of traditional farming and distribution have come together to make this movie. This movie is inspired by works of traditional farmers from Indian states of West Bengal, Jharkhand and Sikkim who are the relentless protectors of uncorrupted nature and food.
Previously, his short film ''TANDOORI'' (2020) has been screened in various film festivals and got awards around the world. His short film ''THE THISTLE BALL'' (2019) has been screened in ''25th Kolkata International Film Festival''. He is also an author of three popular Bengali books.
