At their core, movies are simply another medium for stories to be told. But unlike other forms of storytelling, filmmaking, as I see it, is the epitome of storytelling and human ingenuity. When you create stories, it’s as if you are the hands of God of your own creation, and filmmaking serves as a blank canvas on which you bring that creation to life. Through this, you have the ability to impact the lives of millions of people in more ways than one could possibly fathom. It is my desire to make movies and shows that inspire people like the films and shows that inspired me to pursue a career in the film industry in the first place.
My origin story dates back to a TV show called Arrow. It literally felt as if I had been blind my entire life, and then, after watching that show, I could finally see. This cataclysmic event in my life not only inspired my obsessive passion for cinema, but it also gave me something to aspire to, an ideal to be better than I was at a time when I was at my lowest. Over the last seven-plus years, I have compiled a handwritten list of every single movie I have ever seen, which totals over 1,000 films. However, I don’t simply view films as an entertainment experience. I treat watching TV shows and movies the same way an athlete treats watching game film. It’s research that has taught me countless tactics regarding dialogue, story structure, character development, etc., which has not only influenced my own original work but has helped me improve my craft as well.
Unlike most people I know, the story of my life has been anything but a straight line. I’ve been fat, and I’ve been skinny. By the time I was 18, I had been to all 50 states after a ten-year endeavor, most of which was accomplished over the course of four family road trips across the country. I have the same interests as any sports-loving jock, but I’m a comic book-loving nerd at heart. I’ve been to three different types of schools: public, boarding, and private. Through all this, I have come to realize that being normal is overrated. Being different is what sets us apart. It’s what makes us unique. I have never considered myself to be a normal individual, nor would I want to be, because, ultimately, nobody ever made a difference by being like everyone else.

“Now I realize that there is no righteous path, it’s just people trying to do their best in a world where it is far too easy to do your worst." — Castiel -- (Supernatural: 10x09)
“Sooner or later, we all go through a crucible. I'm guessing yours was that island. Most believe there are two types of people who go into a crucible. The ones who become stronger from the experience and survive it, and the ones who die. But there's a third type. The ones who learn to love the fire and choose to stay in their crucible because it's easier to embrace the pain when it's all you know anymore.” — Sebastian Blood -- (Arrow: 4x2)
