Benjamin Agsten was born in Frankenberg, Saxony. Since 2016 he has been studying media management at the Mittweida University of Applied Sciences, specializing in digital media and journalism. Since he was always interested in films, he realized his first own short film projects beyond his studies. He works as a director, producer and screenwriter in Germany and names Christopher Nolan as his role model. His first major work is called “Shades Of Despair”, an end-of-time thriller that was released in 2021.
At the beginning of 2020 he finished the short film "Lucky You", which is also a thriller that deals with various topics such as jealousy, stalking and love.
In between his film projects, he also makes various image films for companies and works as a producer for short films.
In May and June 2021, he shot his third short film, entitled “Following”, which deals with social media and the resulting social consequences. The film was release in May 2022 and won several prices.
His next project was titled "Wiped Out" and deals with coffee and art and the sorrows that preoccupy artists. The film was shot in February 2022 and released in July 2022. This was his first movie which was shown in Los Angeles in the Hudson Guilt Theatre back in December 2022. “Wiped Out” had his premiere alongside with “Following” in the CineStar Chemnitz in front of a big crowd.
In August 2022 his fifth short film titled “Rêver” was shot. The film addresses self-reflection using stylistic devices from the 1920s. "Rêver" also had his premiere in front of a big crowd in the CineStar Chemnitz back in January 2023.
In April 2023 the first part of his sixth and biggest short film so far, "You Are We" was shot. Also the seventh short film "Wiped Out 2" was completed in April 2023 and will be expected by the end of summer 23.
