Crooked Run Fermentation DC is seeking short horror films made by filmmakers local to the DMV for ​BEERS & FEARS!

Awards & Prizes

Submit your short horror film (25 minutes or less) for a chance to be screened at Crooked Run Fermentation (CRF) at 550 Morse St. NE, Washington, DC.

​There is no entry fee.

CRF will select 4-10 films for a screening to take place Sunday, October 29, starting at 7 pm. The Best in Show film (chosen by our taproom manager, filmmaker, and Halloween-enthusiast, Hannah Gavagan) will receive a $100 gift card to Crooked Run Fermentation.

​The submitter of any film selected will receive free draught beers for the duration of the Beers and Fears Film Festival event.

Rules & Terms

Filmmakers must be currently residing in the DMV area and/or able to attend the screening in person.

Films must be in English or have English subtitles.

Prior screenings/releases have no weight on selection.

Whoever submits the film must own the rights to said film.

Films must be less than 25 minutes including credits.

    Beers & Fears was 10/10! Hannah and everyone at Crooked Run Fermentation was so welcoming and kind and talented. My short "Fever Dreamer" premiered there and won her first award, Best Director. Big thrills! Everyone should submit!
