Bandung International Student Film Festival (BISFF) is a film festival initiated by Film & Television Study Program of the Faculty of Art and Design Education, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) in Bandung - Indonesia.

This film festival provides an opportunity for filmmakers who are still student (high school, Vocational High School, undergraduate and graduate student films) in various countries. Films that have successfully passed the judging will be screened in festival activities that will take place in the city of Bandung - Indonesia

BISFF has 6 categories of films that will be competed, including;
1. Indonesian Short Film (submission for students from Indonesia)
2. Short Films (open for Public)
3. Short Documentary Films (open for Public)
4. Short Animation Film (open for Public)
5. Indonesian High School and Vocational High School Short Film (submission for students from Indonesia)
6. Indonesian High School and Vocational High School Short Animation Film (submission for students from Indonesia)

All winners of the categories will receive the Personalized Certificates with an online verification.

Film screening and awards for competition winners will be given at Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI), Bandung - Indonesia.

Bandung International Student Film Festival (BISFF) works under the Film and Television Study Program, Faculty of Art and Design Education, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) in Bandung, West Java - Indonesia

RULES AND TERMS
1. Submissions for BISFF are open to high school, Vocational High School, undergraduate and graduate student films.
2. All films must be presented in their original language with English subtitles.
3. The film is the result of production in the last 2 years (Premiere status is not required).
4. The duration of the film must be adjusted to the category taken (please read it carefully before you carry out the submission process).
5. Films must be registered with FilmFreeway as a student project and submitted no later than two years after graduation.
6. Any changes to the rules will be at the discretion of the BISFF.
7. All entries must be submitted online via FilmFreeway.
8. All submissions are screened and evaluated by the BISFF Selection Committee (under the supervision of the curatorial team that we have appointed).
9. Judging criteria are based on the creativity of visual images, quality of production (regardless of production costs), originality of storytelling, and entertainment value.
10. Submissions will be checked for eligibility and judged only in the appropriate category.
11. All Official Selections for each category will be announced on the BISFF website and BISFF social media platforms and will be notified via email.
12. The number of selections for each category is at the discretion of the BISFF Committee.
13. Screening and Awarding Ceremony will be held in Bandung - Indonesia. Other announcements will be made on the BISFF official website and BISFF social media platforms.

SCREENING
1. All official selections are included in the festival program for the exhibition.
2. BISFF has the right to choose other selected films to be screened at the film festival.
3. Filmmakers and/or production companies must provide the BISFF with a copy of their film for screening at least 7 working days before the festival. This is to ensure the festival has sufficient time to check for possible technical issues and resolve them prior to the screening.
4. Sending a copy of the film will use Drive Cloud which is confirmed via the participant's email.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR EXHIBITIONS
1. All films must be of standard cinema aspect ratio and resolution (Square Pixels 1.0). Flat:1.85:1 2K (1998x1080) or 4K (3996x2160) Scope: 2.39:1 2K (2048x858) or 4K (4096x1716).
2. HD format is possible, but the filmmakers/producers must give BISFF the rights to re-format it for screening purposes. HD quality digital copy of the film in Quicktime (Pro Res 422) if applicable.
3. H264 (MP4) files can be accepted provided the images are of great quality.

OTHER AGREEMENTS
1. The BISFF is hereby granted the right to use excerpts from every film submitted for festival promotional purposes.
2. Filmmakers and/or production companies allow the BISFF to use their film Press Kits for promotional purposes.
3. Submission of any film to the festival means that the filmmaker and/or production company agrees unconditionally to all the rules and regulations of the BISFF.

IMPORTANT!!!
Films and student videos must show proper logo bumper at the beginning or end of the video showing the institution which represents the institution where the participant received education

If not listed in the video, participants can send the following documents of recommendation letter from academic supervisor or institution after being declared passed (via participant email) by jury for the screening or nomination.

- Any film submitted as a student film without proper identification will be disqualified  -
