Aslihan Unaldi is a screenwriter and director who was born and raised in Istanbul. Her award-winning student short Razan premiered at the Rotterdam Film Festival in 2006 and her feature documentary Overdrive at the Istanbul Film Festival in 2011. Aslihan was a writer on Mete Gumurhan’s Young Wrestlers (Berlinale, 2016), and Crystal Moselle’s Skate Kitchen (Sundance, 2018, distributed by Magnolia). She has worked as a script consultant on numerous feature film projects. In September 2021 Aslihan directed her feature debut Afloat in southern Turkey, which is in postproduction. 
Aslihan holds an MFA in film from NYU’s Tisch, where she currently teaches feature screenwriting at the graduate level. Her work has has been supported by the Tribeca Film Institute, Netflix, Topic, Film Independent, Sloan Foundation, the World Resources Institute, New York Women in Film and TV, and others.
