Ashley Bower is a queer writer and producer currently working as the Medical Researcher on NBC’s Chicago Med. This year, she received her first Story By credit on Chicago Med’s 9th season.
Last year, Ashley wrote and executive produced her first short film Stuck, which premiered at New York Shorts International Film Festival. Stuck is a dramatic film that explores the different ways people grieve, and was additionally selected to screen at five other festivals thus far. Ashley has produced and worked as the 1st AD on an array of several other short films as well.
Ashley received her BFA in Creative Producing from Chapman University, all while dancing in parades at Disneyland. She also volunteered as an EMT – a job inspired by her love of writing and watching medical shows. Her character-driven dramas often focus on expanding the narrative around adoption and the importance of found family, with LGBTQ characters and coming of age stories. Adopted at birth, Ashley grew up in Pleasanton, California and presently resides in LA.
