Ashanti Sharrieff (she/her) is an independent filmmaker from New York City with a BFA and MFA from Columbia College Chicagos in Cinema Producing and Assistant Directing. She is now the co owner of True Tone Collective a media based production company in Queens,New York. Her brand focuses on diversity, equity and inclusion in front of the camera and behind the camera. Ashanti focuses on directing short films and music videos that highlight black and latino artists. A consistent thematic thread in her work are showing healthy familial dynamics and religious values vs community traditions. She has had the pleasure of working with notable brands as well such as HBO, The Apollo Theater, People of Culture Studios and Make Make Entertainment. Ashanti continues to support independent film companies and be the change she’d like to see in the entertainment industry.
