Ash Blodgett is an award-winning director passionate about telling stories that spotlight modern social issues through the lens of comedy. Her short films have screened at major festivals such as the Santa Barbara, Catalina, Sedona, and SIDEWALK Film Festivals. Her 2023 short Good Grief won Best Cinematography at the Worldwide Women’s Film Festival, earning a $60K Panavision film grant, and she was named Best Female Director at the 2024 Central Coast International Film Festival.
In 2022, Ash was selected for the Women In Film Mentoring Program and was later hired to direct a live-action recreation of a scene from LAIKA Studios’ Oscar-nominated film ParaNorman to celebrate its 10-year anniversary. Her feature project Extra Life was selected for the 2024 Stowe Story Labs SIDEWALK Narrative Lab. Ash has directed hundreds of live-action shoots as a staff director for LinkedIn Learning, including complex, multi-actor scenario shoots across sound stages and locations. Her experience in fast-paced production environments has sharpened her ability to lead teams, pivot quickly, and deliver high-quality work on tight timelines.
A committed advocate for representation, Ash consistently builds inclusive sets. On her short film Good Grief, every above-the-line role—including the principal camera department—was filled by a woman. On May I Put You On Hold, 80% of the cast and crew were women, and key roles were held by BIPOC and API creatives. With a flair for satire, a collaborative spirit, and experience across both independent and studio-backed productions, Ash is uniquely prepared to bring engaging stories to life on screen as a director.
