Born in Leon (Mexico) in 1973, Arturo Pons graduated as bachelor in Communication Sciences at the Iberoamerican University. At the same time he worked, from 1994 to 1998, as television presenter and producer for Televisa. From 1998 to 2001 he devoted himself to the development of multimedia. He lived in Barcelona during eleven years, where he studied at the Centre d'Estudis Cinematogràfics de Catalunya, earning the Opera Prima award. He has directed and produced videos for music bands; documentary and fiction series for TV in Mexico. He has been assistant director of feature films. He studied a specialized script workshop at EICTV in Cuba. In November, 2009, Arturo directed his first feature film, “La Brújula la Lleva el Muerto”, (The Compass is Carried by the Dead Man), that was selected for the official competition of the 24th Tokyo´s International Film Festival, the L.A. Film Festival 2012, the New York Latino Film Festival 2012, the Guanajuato Film Festival, and the Vancouver International Film Festival, among others. Since 2005, Arturo teaches audiovisual grammar and screenplay writing at universities in México. He was selected in 2016 as director in the Talents of the Berlinale In December, 2018, Arturo directed his second feature film “*****…(The Asterisks)”
