Film Independent invites all Fellows (past and present) to submit their short films (fiction or nonfiction) or music videos for consideration for our annual Artist Development Showcase, which will be held in person this July in Los Angeles. As Film Independent celebrates 30 years of Artist Development, we’ve expanded the Showcase to celebrate the work of Fellows across all Artist Development labs and programs. This event aims to highlight the talents we work year-round to cultivate and provide an opportunity for our Fellows to network and reconnect.

Submissions are open until April 28, 2023. Please contact projectinvolveshowcase@gmail.com for a code to apply in that period if you are a current or prior Film Independent Fellow.

2023 Artist Development Showcase Guidelines

SUBMISSION DEADLINE:
All submissions must be received by April 28, 2023.

GUIDELINES:

Submission projects must have been written, produced, edited, directed, and/or shot by a current or past Film Independent Fellow. For the producers to be considered, they must have been involved in the story development process.

ELIGIBILITY:
Eligible projects for consideration are fiction or nonfiction short films or music videos produced within the past 3 years. Works-in-progress are not accepted. 30 minute max running time. Online screeners only please; no hard copies will be accepted.

    The PI showcase is amazing ! Every year I'm blown away by the quality of the films and the thoughtfulness of the curation. It's amazing how Film Independent really supports current and past PI fellows even beyond the completion of the program. It's a true film family!

    The showcase was an amazing experience! Film Independent does a wonderful job curating the showcase and treated filmmakers and their guest to a wonderful time. Also, there is nothing better than projecting on that lovely Academy screen!
