Arthur Woo, director and cinematographer, began his career as Director of Photography focused on beauty, fashion, and general commercial work. His ongoing study of lighting techniques, composition, color theory, camera movement, and other techniques led to working with brands and publications such as L'Oréal Professionnel, Maybelline, Lancôme, Estee Lauder, Vogue Mexico, and more.
Although Arthur's initial interest in production started in the commercial world, he later decided to boost his film education in an effort to understand cinematic language to better communicate and work with directors. This led to an unexpected passion of classic films of Hollywood, New Wave, and others. 1940s-1960s films inspired him to begin writing and directing his own projects while continuing to work as a director of photography.
