Arthur Bonazzi is a Ukrainian-born filmmaker whose work blends grounded realism with surreal, introspective storytelling. Raised by his mother after his father left, Arthur spent his youth searching for meaning beyond the ordinary. As a teenager he became drawn to visual storytelling, creating documentaries about Chernobyl and traveling there on his own despite his mother’s fears.
In early 2022, shortly before the war in Ukraine escalated, Arthur relocated to Budapest and later immigrated to Canada, where his professional filmmaking journey began. He joined the Winnipeg Film Group in Manitoba, volunteering, learning the craft, and forming his first connections in the industry. During a filmmaking workshop, he met fellow student Tyson Bednar, who encouraged him to pursue his first narrative film, leading to the creation and release of Heroin (2023).
In 2025, Arthur married Ankita Saikia. While working as an insurance agent, he took a break from his job to produce The Insurance Call (2025).
