The fifth edition of ArteSettima Festival, organized by one of the most important young film magazines of Italy, with 1million web impression and millions of social views, continues a yearly event of international emerging short cinema with 500$ of Prize Pool and a huge spotlight on Artesettima website and social media.

ArteSettima is a magazine with more than 60.000 readers monthly also active on social media with 4 Million likes / 84k Followers on TikTok and 106k Followers on Instagram. ArteSettima explores the way cinema connects everybody through multiple languages, never being elitist.

The project has partnered in various projects with multiple important cinema & culture realities like Scomodo, Anomalia Media, Streaming Platform MUBI, International Museum MUDEC, Shorts Streaming Network We-Short, COMICON and GOETHE Institut.

The main goal is to discover and give deserved awards to hidden gems of the contemporary new wave of cinema. With only one category and multiple awards we want to give absolute freedom to filmmakers worldwide.

Our Editorial Board will go through all the submissions for the first selection. The best 10 short films will be selected for projection in the wonderful location "ALCAZAR LIVE", in the centre of Rome, in the neighbourhood of Trastevere.

Our Expert Jury, that has been formed through the editions by MATTEO ZOPPIS & ALESSIO RIGO DE RIGHI (King Crab), CIRO DE CARO (Spaghetti Story, Acqua di Marzo, Giulia), ROBERTO RECCHIONI (Dylan Dog, Orfani, John Doe), FRANCESCO LETTIERI (Ultras, Lovely Boy, Il segreto di Liberato) and MARICETTA LOMBARDO (Io Capitano) will then decide the main prize winner.

Each of the 10 finalists will also have articles written by our magazine and released on our website and social media (@artesettima and artesettima.it)
Secondary selections for Best Surrealist, Generational Over 35 Short and the Pasolini 50 Year will receive an award.
The editorial board will also give an award.
The festival will have wonderful live finals with International Guests and Talks with Directors and Cast of selected shorts. Additional Sponsors and collateral events will be announced later on.

Rules & Terms

Rules & Terms for Official Selection

-All genres are accepted with a maximum length of 20 minutes.
-Maximum age of the Director at the moment of submitting the entry must be 35 Years Old
-The films must include English Subtitles (not if the spoken language is English or Italian, if so you will need to provide english subtitles only if selected for the finals)
-The film must have been produced after 1st January 2023

By Submitting your film, you agree that:

1)Artesettima Shorts can use parts of your film for promotional purposes.
2)Entry fees are non-refundable
3)You cannot withdraw your submission after official selection has been announced
4)You own all rights to the film
5)Jury choices are unquestionable

    Ho avuto la fortuna e il piacere di poter partecipare alla seconda edizione di ArteSettima Shorts con il mio cortometraggio "Sbagliando s'inventa" che si è aggiudicato il Premio della giuria con mio immenso stupore e onore. Il festival è stato molto interessante, una selezione di lavori inediti e di alta qualità in una cornice familiare e autentica come quella dell'Angelo Mai.
