My name is Arielle Borges, and I am a senior in high school and will be beginning my undergraduate degree in film production in the fall of 2023. I became interested in film as junior high school and since then have taken several classes outside of school to advance my knowledge and prepare for college. These classes include a summer filmmaking class with SOCAPA in New York City, a 12-week screenwriting class at NJ Academy of Film and most recently a pre-college credit program at Loyola Marymount in Los Angeles where I studied social impact filmmaking. I am currently the Chief Editor of my high School TV Production Club, where I edit and direct a monthly episode. Over the past several years I’ve realized that in addition to having a passion for editing I want to be a film Director. I admire the whole process of creating a film, but as a person that likes to multitask and be in control, I am best suited to be a Director. I enjoy working with actors as we collaboratively carry out the intended emotion of a scene. I am very organized and feel capable of managing a large production. I visualize how I want to see my films, just as I picture myself directing one day. Me, behind the camera, getting asked a million questions amongst chaos all at once, then… “Quiet on set…” the studio goes silent. “Camera rolling…” I look at the monitor, seeing my clear vision brought to life. “Action!” Art is created.
