Ariel, a native of Albuquerque, New Mexico, is a filmmaker with a passion for storytelling. Graduating from the University of New Mexico with a degree in Sociology, she embarked on a journey in the film industry, starting as an intern in 2011 and steadily progressing to become a seasoned location manager. Throughout her career, Ariel has collaborated with esteemed production companies such as A24, Netflix, Sony, and Lionsgate, working on notable projects including "Sicario," "The Curse," and "When You Finish Saving the World."
Her invaluable experiences alongside talented filmmakers have shaped her creative approach, teaching her the importance of treating the crew with respect, pushing her own boundaries, fostering collaboration, and problem-solving on the fly. Ariel's expertise in location management has provided her with a deep understanding of the logistical aspects of filmmaking, a foundation that complements her aspirations as a director.
A natural storyteller, Ariel's passion for narratives led her to embark on writing and directing. Her early projects during high school, crafted with resourcefulness on borrowed equipment, showcased her entertaining and imaginative storytelling. Today, she continues to captivate audiences with her unique perspectives, aiming to shed light on multifaceted women and untold stories in innovative ways.
Driven by her dedication to honing her craft, Ariel has expanded her knowledge through prestigious programs such as Sundance Co//ab's Directing: Core Elements, Visual Storytelling, and Directing Actors. Her directorial debut, "Solstice," received recognition nationwide, screening at various film festivals in 2021. Currently, she is immersed in the post-production phase of her upcoming short film, "All the Love You Ever Get," which is set to enter the festival circuit in mid-2023. Additionally, Ariel is developing the original script for "How to Catch a Predator," a compelling drama/thriller, where she will also serve as the director. Alongside her filmmaking endeavors, she is actively working on the development of "Badass Women in Film," a nonfiction podcast that aims to provide honest and insightful discussions about women's experiences in various film departments.
Ariel's profound understanding of storytelling, meticulous attention to detail, and unwavering passion propel her forward in her pursuit of creating meaningful and captivating cinematic experiences.
