Ivanka Apostolova Baskar (Skopje, 1973). She has a Ph.D. in Historical Anthropology of Arts with modules in Set Design and Dramaturgy at the ISH Ljubljana and Ljubljana University/AGRFT, Slovenia (2010). Since 1992 she is active in the fields of art and culture; currently, she is self-employed in culture as an anthropologist of arts; producer, director, visual dramaturg, translator, editor, author, lecturer. She is head and program producer of Macedonian Center International Theater Institute/PRODUKCIJA (since 2013) and creator of video theater projects (since 2019). She teaches art and design history, contemporary art at the Faculty of Art and Design/EURM Skopje (since 2014). She is editor/author for the global theater and performing arts e-magazine The Theater Times (since 2017). She is author of the books/e-books: Theater Comics, In Search of Lost Director, Anthropology of Experience in Theater. She is editor of Personal Futurism/Public Politics, Translating Visual Dramaturgy, Set Design Skopje, Poor Little Rich Drama, plays by various contemporary Macedonian and Croatian playwrights, The Fifth Act… She translates literature from the Slovenian language, contemporary authors like M. Mazzini, M. Komel, M, Kumerdej, J.Lapuh Malezic, E. Flisar supported by the funds' JAK Slovenia and Traduki, Berlin. She was granted for her professional projects by the i-Portunus, EU/professional development 2019; Prince Claus Fund, Amsterdam/participation in Scenofest, PQ 2011; ZSP Dane Zajc-Translators Residence Ljubljana 2017; Kunstlerhaus Bethanien Berlin and Akademie Schloss Solitude/``Back&Forth``- Residence for artist and curators, 2004. She is a member of ITI and ERC UNESCO, ZDUS Slovenia, IKOMOS, AIKA, MATA, OISTAT International, RCAC Zagreb, COST/ISTME. She was awarded for the prize Ljupco Filipov (Comics Center Veles) for the international promotion of Macedonian comics (2011). Her former professional project engagements: She was coordinator and researcher at the Department for Cultural Studies-Institute Evro Balkan, Skopje (2011/2013); regional editor for Mediantrop-Journal for culture and new media, Belgrade, Serbia (2013/2016); commissioner for the Macedonian Pavilion (No man`s land by Stone Design Architects)-Venice Biennial, Architecture 2016; workshop mentor at Scenofest 2011/PQ–Intersected Witches (making theater comics); international projects coordinator for Macedonian Film Fund, 2015; festival coordinator for IFF-Brothers Manaki, 2015; program director for Festival for Creative Industries, Skopje Kreativa, 2016/2018 (Hub me with creativity; Co-Create/Do-Create; 7Times2Creativity). In the period from 2001/2010, she was living and working in Slovenia as self-employed in culture, working as a visual dramaturg in theater performances directed by Slovenian directors J.Lorenci, A. Jelen, M.Pograjc, N.Gorsic, M.Zupancic, B.Kobal; teaching collage comics and visual deconstruction at Stuart Famul-School for Applied Arts, Ljubljana. As a comic artist she exhibited and published her short comics in many magazines, galleries, museums, festivals in Europe (Stripburek, Stripburger, Kontejner, Apokalipsa, Blesok, Lift, Art Republika…Gledaliski muzej Ljubljana; KUD France Presern; Ljubljana; Cankarjev Dom Ljubljana; Kino Siska Ljubljana; Paper Museum-Angouleme…).
