Antonio Chavez Trejo is a Mexican filmmaker, writer, producer and entrepreneur.
His work includes Films, Television, Commercials, Corporate, Entertainment Events and Music Videos; as well as clients like The Coca-Cola Company, ACT II Popcorn, LIVE NATION, FHM Magazine and Amstel Works TV.
His films are noted for their surreal feel, dark undertones and sense of humor, visually appealing cinematography and have been featured, nominated and awarded in dozens of film festivals internationally including Cannes Film Festival, HollyShorts Film Awards (Academy Qualifying), the AT&& Film Awards among many others across 5 continents.
"Résilience" alone, his most recent dramatic and experimental film, has been screened in 26 festivals around the world, has earned 35 nominations, 22 awards so far as well as recognitions from the California State Legislature, California Senate and the Los Angeles County. The film had already a theatrical release in France, Italy and soon in the US. Also the film was in competition at the Academy Awards for the 2021 Oscars and screened at the Academy Screening room where all members of the Academy vote for the nominees.
Born and raised in Mexico City. In 2005, he received his bachelor’s degree in Science of Communication from the Universidad Anahuac del Sur where he met his screenwriting mentor The Palme d’Or winner and Oscars-nominated writer and producer Guillermo Arriaga with whom he still has a great friendship. He also possesses an associate degree from Spanish Radio TV – RTVE in Screenwriting and as a Television Anchorman and a master’s degree from the New York Film Academy as a Master of Fine Arts in Filmmaking.
Antonio started his career in México City producing and directing television in EXA-TV, a television network part of MVS Entertainment Property. Currently Antonio is the Director of Creative and Production Services at Supersonix Entertainment Group, a production and PR Company.
Antonio co-directed the also multi-awarded feature film “El Freeman” which premiered in Los Angeles, CA after winning several awards world wide. The film has already had distribution in soviet countries and in now available for streaming on Amazon Prime.
