Anton Kostrov is an award-winning Finnish film director, commercial director, producer, screenwriter and entrepreneur based in Helsinki, Finland. He is the Founder and Creative Director of Bertta Media, a Finnish commercial production company specializing in cinematic commercials, branded films, advertising campaigns, corporate storytelling and premium video production.
Anton combines cinematic storytelling with commercial strategy, audience psychology and high-end visual craftsmanship. Working across both advertising and narrative filmmaking, he develops, writes, directs and produces projects from concept to final delivery, creating films that are both emotionally engaging and commercially effective.
Since founding Bertta Media, Anton has directed commercial productions for big brands and companies. His portfolio includes advertising campaigns, commercial films, branded content, promotional videos and corporate storytelling for clients including Mehiläinen, Terveystekniikka, Elekma and the Nuori Taide Foundation. Campaigns directed and produced by Anton have collectively generated millions of views across YouTube, Instagram, TikTok and other digital platforms, helping brands reach large audiences through cinematic, story-driven advertising.
Unlike many commercial directors, Anton entered filmmaking through entrepreneurship and professional sales. Before establishing Bertta Media, he built experience in business development, negotiation, client acquisition and strategic sales. This commercial background continues to shape his directing style, allowing him to approach every production with both creative ambition and measurable business objectives. His philosophy is simple: every commercial should tell a memorable story while serving a clear strategic purpose. Alongside his commercial career, Anton is actively writing, directing and producing original narrative films. His work explores character-driven storytelling, ambitious visual language and emotionally resonant cinema with international appeal. He is currently writing and developing multiple feature films while continuing to expand Bertta Media's commercial production work both in Finland and internationally.
His award-winning short film The Red Planet (Punainen Planeetta) was written, directed and produced independently before receiving an international screening in London, marking an early milestone in his filmmaking career. Anton also served as Executive Producer of Kipinä (Étincelle), an international co-production between Bertta Media and the French production company Collines Films. He led Finnish production operations, coordinated local crews and oversaw production during the project's 35 mm film shoot.
Currently studying Media and Film at Metropolia University of Applied Sciences in Helsinki, Anton balances commercial directing with feature film development while expanding Bertta Media's international portfolio. His ambition is to establish Bertta Media as one of the leading commercial production companies in the Nordic region while directing internationally recognized feature films.
Influenced by filmmakers Martin Scorsese, Francis Ford Coppola, Ben Stiller and Aki Kaurismäki, Anton combines classical filmmaking with modern advertising, digital marketing and contemporary production techniques. His directing style is defined by strong visual identity, emotionally driven storytelling and a commitment to creating films that leave a lasting impact on both audiences and clients.
