Dedicated to the exhibition and nurturing of diverse forms of media art, Antimatter is one of the premier showcases of experimentation in film, video, audio and emerging timebased forms. Encompassing screenings, installations, performances and media hybrids, Antimatter provides a noncompetitive setting in Victoria, British Columbia, free from commercial and industry agendas.

Since 1998, the quality and creativity of its programming, commitment to audience development, and respect for artists and their work have made Antimatter one of the most important media arts events in Canada, and the world.

The 22nd annual Antimatter runs October 16 to 26, 2019.

Productions must be independently produced, with the maker retaining complete editorial control and copyright. Productions must have been completed after January 1, 2017. Selected works can be screened from 16mm, Super 8 or Quicktime file.

Submission of an entry indicates acceptance of all regulations, guarantee that a screening copy in the format specified will be made available for the dates of the event, and authorization to publicly exhibit the work at Antimatter 2019. If screening copy is to be provided by a distributor or agent then entry must be submitted by that distributor/agent, along with any criteria or conditions.

In addition to single channel works for screening programs we invite proposals for media-based performance and installation projects.
