Believing in her continuous growth in art, Afa liberated herself from her birthplace to explore different regions in search of her identity. However, she faced confusion about the purpose of her work. "Mom and Home" (2023), a project that reimagines narratives with her mother from the past through archival processing, found objects, and audio recordings in storytelling. She believes that all humans have their own memories of past narratives that still resonate today. "Mom and Home" is a process of resolving misunderstandings about the relationship between mother and child through textual approaches, photography, audio, sculpture, experimental film, or installation. Despite initial doubts, she found experimental film as a vessel for expressing her lost identity and continued to seek meaning in life, using it as a medium for creativity and research. Through the exploration of values and identity, she reflects on human existence in her work (2023).
