Anne Parichon-Buoncore started her dance training early in age, practicing ballet with her Polish teacher Karina Vlaneska at the local ballet school near Paris, France. However her dance journey started much earlier when she was very little and was putting up dance shows for her family. “Applaudissez la danseuse!” (“Clap for the dancer!”) she would say when she enters the living room “stage”.
Throughout her entire childhood, she perfected slowly but surely her technique, taking many different styles of classes (contemporary, jazz, salsa, hip hop), even though she came from a very urban area and not from a very privileged background she kept going after high school and entered the Academie Internationale de Danse in Paris, where she was able to get a scholarship to be trained as a dancer.
But after lots of thinking and doubts about the future she decided to go back to college and study to get a “proper” job, this didn’t last very long… A few years later, Anne took a one way ticket to New York to study modern dance at the prestigious Martha Graham School of Dance.
There she met people who still remain friends nowadays, and she started working with different choreographers Carrie Ahern, Charlotte Colmant, Allan Mc Cormick and more… She also entered the Jennifer Muller scholarship program where she learned repertory and the polarity technique, which deeply changed her as a dancer.
Anne has always been a rebellious mind, was never really into academia but more for the school of life and when 2020 hit us hard she had the idea of merging dance and videos together, and decided to launch her own dance company - APDANCE Inc.
Anne likes to explore the dynamic between urban moves and modern dance, as well as ballet, with the right amount of glamour that can make people's hearts melt; she likes dancers with strong personalities as well as beautiful dance technique and that is what she is trying to convey in her dance videos. Anne is still a dancer as she dances in her own pieces but is also still involved in other artists work at the moment, such as Jennifer Chin Dance and VarietyPackCollective. Her dream - turning the street into a huge dance stage.
