Annalísa is an award-winning theatre and film director from Iceland.
She directs short films, music videos and theatre pieces. She was nominated as the New Nordic Voice, a competition introducing promising Nordic filmmakers at Nordisk Panorama, for the short film Sense (2024) which premiered at Reykjavik International Film Festival and was funded by the Icelandic Film Centre.
Her music video/short ,,Ég er bara að ljúga er það ekki?” (e. I’m just lying right) won the Icelandic Music Awards in 2022 for Best Music Video and the Solveig Anspach Prize for Best Directing. Annalísa has a BA in Theatre and Performance Making from the Iceland University of the Arts 2021 and studied film directing at MetFilm School in Berlin. She will soon start her Master studies in filmmaking at London Film School.
Annalísa has been involved with filmmaking since early age. She has held various positions in film production, e.g. screenwriting, directing, filming, editing, continuity supervising and acting. See more on IMDB page.
Annalísa puts emphasis on sincerity in everything she does. She finds it important to remember where the heart and essence lies in the subject of the work. Annalísa is interested in investigating the absurdity of human behaviour and existence, equality, tension and imbalance, repetition and obsession in her artistic creation. Her work tends to ask philosophical questions about modern society.
