It is that time of the year... When it get's colder and darker we just want to cuddle up and watch films. Join us for an evening of short animations!

We are looking for animations up to 8 minutes in length to be shown in a small venue in Edinburgh. If you are local, we would love for you to attend the showing on the 7th of November so please be considerate of that when you submit.

Organised by Animated Women UK - Scotland, this event is a great opportunity for local animators to meet and talk about their interests and passions. The submission is free!

We are also in talks to have a screening of the same programme in London but the date is still to be decided.

Rules & Terms

Submissions to be ideally under 8 minutes in length (but we can make exceptions if the film sits well along other films).

Any form of animation is accepted, including 2D, cut-out, stop-motion etc. Please note that we don't accept AI generated content.

Submissions which aren’t in English must have English subtitles.

All entries should be sent via FilmFreeway with an online screener. Final film to be supplied in a .mp4 or a .mov format.

The event will focus on equality, therefore, submissions from female filmmakers (or people identifying as female or nonbinary) will be given priority.

The person submitting the film or attending the screening must have had involvement with the production of the film (director, animator, illustrator etc.).

We will favour submissions by artists who can attend the event on the 7th of Nov 2025. The event is an 18+ venue, if you are underage you will not be able to attend. REMEBER TO BRING YOUR ID

You are responsible for owning or having the necessary rights to use all material used in your production.
