Angel Ruvalcaba is a Mexican-American producer, writer, and director with several years of experience in animation and live-action. Born and raised in Sylmar, CA, Angel moved to Mesa, AZ where he studied filmmaking at Arizona State University and had his film screened at a film festival. Angel has received awards from film festivals for his visual effects work as a VFX Supervisor and prides himself on being a jack of all trades! He is a LatinX in Animation charter member and was one of the first professors to teach animation for the Latino Film Institute’s Youth Cinema Project.
As a Production Coordinator/Assistant at Walt Disney Animation Studios, Angel works on a variety of large-scale productions such as Encanto, Zootopia+, and theme park attractions. Over the last two years, Angel has been in the Creative Legacy department and worked on projects that span theme parks, commercials, hotels, and cruise lines such as the upcoming Tiana's Bayou Adventure the new water attraction hitting the Disney parks soon! Angel is also co-producing an animated short film "Pollo Punch". Angel is the first member of his family to graduate high school and college and is constantly looking for ways to make his family proud. Angel feels very strongly about having the right representation in Film/TV and this film is just the beginning of that.
