Andrew Gutierrez was born in the San Francisco Bay Area. His father, Al Gutierrez, was producer and host of a local television program on KTVU Channel 2 in Oakland. It was during sick days from school and the occasional need for a child actor that Andrew received his first exposure to film and televison production.
At the age of 13, Andrew purchased a Super 8 camera and began his pursuit of being a filmmaker. Andrew completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Film Studies from the UC Santa Barbara in 1993. In 1997, he moved to Southern California and worked as an editor, production coordinator and segment producer. In 2000, Andrew returned to the Bay Area for a highly desirable writer/director position with a prominent internet company. In that time, Andrew received 3 Telly Awards for his corporate video productions.
In 2007, Andrew directed a feature film for the children’s summer program, Kids Games. In 2017, Andrew returned to school at Chapman University, to begin working on his master’s degree in Film Production with an emphasis in Directing. Even now, Andrew continues to tell stories of an ordinary person in extraordinary circumstances.
