I’ve been captivated by storytelling and imagination for as long as I can remember. As a kid, I was the one rallying friends and family to act out wild ideas, filming whatever I could with whoever was willing. That first “production company” in middle school may have been scrappy, but the spark was real — and it never left.

Film has always been my heartbeat. Whether I’m on a large set or filming in the middle of nowhere with a minimal crew, something in me lights up. It’s where I feel most alive, most free, most me. I love transforming the world through the lens — finding beauty, meaning, and emotion in places people might overlook. The process itself is magic to me. I never get tired of it. I never want to.

I don’t sleep much these days — too many stories in my head, too many ideas that won’t leave me alone. Film gives those thoughts a home. It helps me make sense of life. It gives imagination, healing, memory, and meaning a place to live forever.

It's very important to me to think about the audience when I'm writing a short film. The films that have left the biggest impact on me are the ones that gave me something to fight for in my heart. The ones that left me feeling so deeply inspired. The ones that left me wanting to fight for myself, for my soul, for the innocence we all tend to get stolen from us as we grow up. I want my audiences to leave the theatre with that "defying gravity" moment in them when they leave a Dennis Film.
