Born in Faro, Portugal, in 1981. Graduated in Filmmaking at the Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema, in Lisbon. Post-graduated in Scriptwriting at the Westminster University in London, and, Directing and Directing actors for the screen at University of Southern California (USC) in Los Angeles. His short-film “CATARINA AND THE OTHERS” became a hit with more than 32 million views on YouTube. After winning the Best Short Film Award at the Milan International Film Festival with “SHOOT ME”, the short-film was bought by Warner Brothers and Andre signed a first option deal with the distribution company. Invited by Russian producer/director Andrei Konchalovskiy (House of Fools; Maria's Lovers; Tango & Cash), Andre co-directed the feature film "BAKU, I LOVE YOU" starring Asia Argento. Recently directed the non-smoking campaign for World Health Organization (WHO). “PORTUGAL IS NOT FOR SALE”, his first feature film, was released at movie theaters all over Portugal by NOS Audiovisuais and finished in the top five most popular Portuguese films in that country this year by number of admissions, proving a breakout hit for the director and the film’s upstart production company Original Features.
