Ana Jobrail is a short story, novella and poetry writer. She has several ebooks on amazon.com. Ana likes to have several projects going at the same time. She loves to give stories that Hitchcockian twist.
Ana was born and raised in the Midwest. Her oldest sister gave her Kahlil Gibran’s “The Prophet” for a birthday gift. Thus, began her dream to be an author. One of her high school English teachers encouraged her to enter a poetry contest. She wrote love poems every chance she had. She earned her first dollar writing a love letter for a co-worker.
She made the mistake of asking a college professor for his opinion on her writing. He asked her. “Will you quit writing if I give you my opinion?” Devastated she stopped writing until she took a feminist poetry class. She wrote “A Modern Day Cinderella” about Princess Diana. Thus, her dream to be a writer and author was reborn. She submitted “A Discourse” to a poetry and short story competition and was one of the 26 accepted out of over 250 entries.
While a member of a reading group, she inquired about starting a writer’s group at the Indian Trails Branch of St. Louis County Library. One of the other librarians was also interested. They co-chaired the Write Along Workshop for several years. The group sponsored an annual haiku contest with a different theme each year.
Writing is her true passion. Editing comes second. She has edited books by Amy Leigh McCorkle and one of Rebekah McAuliffe of which three have won awards.
Ana also has a blog which contains all her rough drafts as well as blurbs about her life. The link is http://bit.ly/2n4IhIY.
