Noir Tribe is a New York storytelling duo (Amber Moelter and Luis Barreto Carrillo) that creates visual content where sustainability and design meet. Their work has been featured on Vogue Italia, Vogue México, ELLE México, NYLON Español, Harper’s Bazaar Bulgaria, Harper’s Bazaar Brasil, and Glamour. Clients include The Museum at FIT, The Women’s March on Washington, Inexmoda, Sana Jardin, and Polite. Their fashion documentary series ETHETICS (ethics+aesthetics) premiered at the BAFTA-Qualifying Aesthetica Short Film Festival and premiered online at Vogue Italia. It won Best Documentary at Panama Fashion Film Festival, Best Cinematography at both Miami Fashion Film Festival (also nominated for Best Creative Concept) and Mercedes-Benz Bokeh South Africa Fashion Film Festival (also nominated for Best Fashion and Best Documentary), Best Designer/Brand at Fashion Film Festival Milano (also nominated for Best Documentary), and Best Styling at Mexico Fashion Film Festival. It is an official selection at fashion film festivals in New York, Copenhagen, Istanbul, Canada, the Netherlands, Portugal (where it was nominated for Best Director), London (where it was nominated for Best Documentary) and Berlin (where it was shortlisted for Best US/Canada film). It was also nominated for Best Fashion Short of the Year at the Academy Award-qualifying Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia in Tokyo. ETHETICS in an ethical fashion film series in partnership with the ITC’s Ethical Fashion Initiative – a flagship program of the World Trade Organization and the United Nations.
They produced Dressed For Protest: The Women’s March and Beyond, a short documentary in association with The Women’s March on Washington – NYC Chapter and Glamour Magazine. It premiered at Fashion Film Festival Milan in the #FFFMILANOFORWOMEN special screening and was also an official selection at FASHIONCLASH Fashion Film Festival in the Netherlands and at Miami Fashion Film Festival. Most recently, Noir Tribe created the fashion film POLITE presents I Am An Individual for the opening night of the Inexmoda BCapital fashion event in Bogotá, Colombia and had its festival premiere at Copenhagen Fashion Film Festival. It is also an Official Selection at Berlin Fashion Film Festival’s Online Showroom and was nominated for Best Fashion Film at Canada International Fashion Film Festival. Amber & Luis live in Beacon, NY with their rescue mutt Lula.
