This was my first film festival experience where I submitted, “Falter,” and was graciously awarded “Greater Amarillo Filmmaker Award.” Upon entering the festival, I was greeted immediately through the door by the warmest of welcomes by AiFF’s representatives and their continued support showed throughout. If you have never attended a film festival before such as me, I can highly recommend, as well of those have seen the ringer of festivals. Amarillo Film Festival is an experience that you can put up there in your rankings. Through multiple seminars, local filmmaking, as well as International filmmakers, I connected with people I never thought possible and acquired so much knowledge. All of which is thanks to the wonderful work of Sherman Bass and Amarillo Film Festival.

Overall, if you get the chance to submit or attend AiFF, I would seize that opportunity as soon as possible so you can experience the joyous evenings that me and my peers have.

The organization of the festival were excellent, and you can really feel the strong sense of community there. I wasn’t able to attend personally, but our team had only positive things to say about the experience.

We were BLOWN AWAY by the cash prizes. Especially from such a new festival. Clearly they are out to make a name for themselves and they actually care about filmmakers. The award trophy was bespoke and way prettier than what we've received from even top tier festivals. I bet in 3-5 years, they will be one of the top festivals in Texas.

  • The 2025 Amarillo International Film Festival was one for the books. With with multiple screenings, seminars, and Q&A's there was always something you could be doing! For a three day festival I got to watch so many incredible films, stories I won't be forgetting anytime soon. It was always clear communication and you could yell everyone attending/working had a passion for film. I'll absolutely be going back next year!

It was an honor for our short film, "Come Out, Wherever You Are," to be included as an official selection in the festival. Thank you to the festival team for your support!
