Romanian film director with a British cinematic education and with experience in a range of other film-related departments, from writing to editing and from festival curation to event production. Currently applying to festivals with the short film 'Must Love Kubrick', directing advertising videos with Inversee Media and co-producing a feature-length British-Romanian project, 'Misanthropos' adapted from Shakespeare.
Initially I prepared for the UNATC film university in Bucharest, but decided to study filmmaking in the UK, which offered me a broad education in several fields and roles. After my studies I was part of the curating team at Student Film Festival London and then returned to Romania where I became part of Inversee Media. We initially produced an independent feature and then continued with commercial work, ranging from online promos to animations to short documentaries. Here I’ve been director and sometimes editor of projects for Unilever, Heineken, Carrefour, local fashion designers and app developers. Working at Inversee also got me close to a great team of people with which I directed ‘Must Love Kubrick’, a short which was nominated at TIFF Cluj and is currently distributed by Short International Ltd. in the US and Europe.
Other experience includes working on the development of two feature projects as associate producer and assistant to a German theatre director for a play at Nottara Theatre Bucharest.
