The artist Ali, born in Baghdad. works as a painter, poet, and playwright, and is a member of the Iraqi Writers’ Union. He attended the Art Institute in Baghdad to study art, but the political situation forced him to leave his homeland. After a long odyssey, he arrived in Switzerland in 1997.
In 2002 he graduated from F + F School for Art and Media Design in Zurich. He has directed, written and co produced several films. In 2007 he started working as a picture designer until he founded his own film company in 2013. He is a member of Swiss Fiction Movement as well as a member of Suissimage. In addition to his film work, he is a performance artist and has already received several awards for his work (Swiss Art Award 2012 , Swiss Performance award 2011)
