Alan is an Australian filmmaker, actor & artist, with a Bachelor of
Fine Art, majoring in painting, from the Victorian College of the Arts. A passionate avant-garde story teller, his fiercely independent works, often explore and reflect in their form, the chaotic perplexities of the human condition.
Alan’s award-winning short films, such as 'Wild Will', 'The Correspondent', and 'Goldfield', have screened in competition at leading festivals worldwide, including Clermont-Ferrand, Tampere, Rome, Brisbane, Encounters and Tallinn Black Nights. Selected as the sole Australian entry in competition, Alan's debut feature 'Vincent' had its world premiere at the 33rd Cinequest Film Festival in 2024."
Shot in just one week, 'Vincent' garnered widespread acclaim for its unique, genre-bending style. Following wins at FilmHaus Berlin (Best Fantasy Film) and the Melbourne Underground FF (Best Film), it was listed in ScreenHub Australia’s Top 10 world films of 2025, in their mid-year round up. Alan’s breakthrough titular performance, also earned Jury Awards for 'Best Lead Actor' at the Santiago Horror, Melbourne Underground, and MidWest WeirdFest film festivals, along with a nomination for 'Best Oceanian Actor' at the Septimius Awards in Europe. His second feature, 'La La Falls'—filmed in just six consecutive days—serves as a standalone, spiritual successor to 'Vincent'.
