My name is Aida Bouya, and I'm from Tan-Tan in southern Morocco. I have a master's degree in human rights and a master's degree from the Higher Institute of Journalism and Communication in Casablanca. I'm also a social activist and a documentary filmmaker. I've made short documentaries like Transitional Tale, Leather Board, Blue Jewel, and The End of the Beginning, as well as a long documentary called "Palace Guardians" that won numerous awards at national and international festivals. a movie highlights the vital role that the villagers play in preserving and transferring ancestral rituals related to the palace while providing an engaging look at day-to-day living in a historically and culturally rich location.
I received an international prize in 2013 from the International Centre for Journalists (ICFJ) in Washington for my investigative writing on the topic of "Abandoned Children and Single Mothers."
