Italo-Venezuelan American Filmmaker Agatino Zurría was born in Puerto la Cruz, Venezuela. After graduating from the Cecilio Acosta University in Mass Communications, he produced and directed his first short: "El Viaje Sin Retorno de Marialma Centeno", which was Official Selection at the 1994 Havana International Film Festival.
After a long period of adjustment, He began writing and directing again in 2011 when he released Interview Me, which won Best Actress (Julie Ferrer) Best Director and Best Short at the Miami Life Awards 2011. The next year he produced "La Mesa Está Servida" (Dinner is Served) Which was Official Selection at the Miami Short Film Festival and won Best Actress (Ika Santamaría) And Best in Show at the NOLA Series as well as Best Directing and Production Achievement at the WITAM Awards, and got a nomination for Best Director at the Miami Life Awards.
In 2013 he released "Faun Moon" which was nominated Best Actor at the Miami Life Awards.
In 2018 he released "Clovis" a dark family drama that was Official Selection at the Hollywood Florida Film Festival and Won the Best Supporting Actress (Lizandra Parra) and Best Young Actor (Dimitri Vardoulias) at the Horror Blood Film Festival in Los Angeles. Right after, in 2019 he produced AUREA, a Steampunk fantasy that won Best Directing at the Miami Sci Fi Film Festival, Best Steampunk film at the Miami Underground Film Festival and Best Script at the Horror Blood Film Festival in Los Angeles.
In 2019 he produced Interview with Marilyn, which has earned many awards around the world: Best Costume Design at the 2019 Florence Film Awards, as well as Best Make Up, Best Original Score and Best Director. Then four more at the Short Film Awards in Los Angeles (Best Actress, Cinematography, Editing and Film Noir), two at the Venice Film Awards (Best Costume Design and Best Make Up) and got 4 nominations at the L'Hospitalet de Llobregat Film Festival in Barcelona Spain (Best Actress, Short Film, Director and Score), apart from being Official Selection at the Oaxaca Film Festival, Dumbo Film Festival and Film Gate Festival.
He is currently producing the pilot of a comedy series, a short film about love during the COVID-19 epidemic, and his first feature.
