Afrika Filmfestival, for some a fixed value in the cinema landscape, for others still unknown territory. Through film, Afrika Filmfestival aims to enlarge ones world view and invalidate the prevailing and outdated ideas about Africa and its cinematic contribution to world of film.
The African film culture continues to flourish and settle its roots ever deeper into the cinematographic soil. Not only do we aim to promote and launch new voices and established authors, we also take part in organising an array of different activities that go beyond the confinements of film. Some of these activities entail: debates, book presentations, exhibitions, interactive film sessions, performances, fashion shows, …
In short, elevating African voices across diverse creative mediums.

By promoting African films, Afrika Filmfestival also contributes to the development of the audiovisual sector in Africa, in part by collaborating with other European African Film festivals: Africa in Motion (Scotland), iAfrica Festival (The Hague), Festival di Cinema Africano (Verona),….
The thematic subdivisions help the public to get to know the current and special aspects of African film and will be awarded accordingly.
Some of these subdivisions include shorts, documentaries, feature lengths films, student shorts,…

Even though I was not able to travel, I am very happy and honored that my film was screened in Leuven, Belgium at this prestigious festival, and I discovered an exceptional audience through the festival's social media pages.
