Aekaphong is an independent filmmaker. He grew up from Songkhla, a quiet province nearby the beach located in the South of Thailand. He graduated from Chulalongkorn university, major in film and still photography. He started his career as a director and editor of television documentary.
In 2015, Aekaphong’s first short film “FON” won Khun Wichitmatra Award in 19th Thai Short Film and Video Festival as well as won Grand Prize from 2015 Young Thai Artist Award. The story was about a secret love of two middle school students. It exposed a confusion between love and physical desire. With the strength of filmmaking skills in this film, “Fon” was chosen by HAL distribution to screen in the theatre with 2 other shorts under the project "Lost in Blue"
This year in 2018, he completed “THE SEA RECALLS”, a short documentary about obscure death of his uncle Krit Saransate, which won best documentary award from 22nd Thai Short Film and Video Festival. Currently, he is working for an upcoming feature documentary of Sopawan Boonnimitr and Peerachai Kerdsin, directors of The Isthmus.
