I picked up a camera at the age of 12 in Ghana, shooting YouTube videos and experimenting with storytelling. After moving to Toronto, I found a new outlet on TikTok, where my visual effects work went viral during the pandemic, earning over 32 million views. My film reviews also gained traction on Instagram, allowing me to build a dedicated audience around cinema.
At Toronto Metropolitan University, I shifted into narrative work, directing 8 BALL, a student short that expanded from a small script with three collaborators into a 60+ person production backed by the school. That experience cemented my love for directing and collaborative storytelling. Since then, I’ve pursued filmmaking in every form, whether making films on an iPhone, shooting abroad in Portugal, or tackling 48-hour challenges.
Beyond the screen, I’ve built platforms that spotlight filmmakers. I launched the Friends and Family Film Festival, showcasing shorts from around the world and awarding prizes to support emerging creators. I also created Over a Meal, a web series featuring conversations with Toronto’s rising directors. For me, social media and community events aren’t just side projects; they’re essential tools for amplifying bold, independent voices.
