For both competitions:
You must be 18+ to submit.
Shorts competition:
We don't require premiere status and your film can have been completed at any time. Just make sure your film has finished its festival run.
All films submitted must be in the horror genre and have a maximum length of 15 minutes.
We want our channel to be truly independent. Currently we only accept shorts with a budget of under £20.000.
You have full flexibility and can withdraw your short from our channel at any time. Just note that we would require 10 working days notice of this.
All judging decisions made are final and the jury will not go into a discussion about this.
Any fees paid are non-refundable.
Submission does not guarantee a place on our channel and all decisions are final.
If you submit to us, you agree that all copyright issues with the short fall on you, and we take no responsibility for copyright claims. You should own all the rights to your film.
We don't pay the filmmaker to screen their film unless otherwise stated.
By submitting your film, you agree to us uploading your film to YouTube and market the film accordingly, which includes but is not limited to cutting the film up into smaller reels, promoting parts or all of the film on social media. However, there is no promise or guarantee we will market your film.
Screenplay competition:
You can win up to £1000 to produce your short. Please submit a summary of what you would use the money for.
We may pick more than one winner.
If you win, a member of our team will be assigned to your project and must be credited as an executive producer in the above the line credits of your film. Abandoned Horror must also be listed in the credits as well as that must slate be added at the beginning of the film.
The film must be finished within a year of winning.
By submitting to us, you claim this is your own work or you hold the right to submit.
The winning, completed film must have digital premiere on the Abandoned Horror Shorts channel, but this can take place after its festival run, a maximum of 2 years after winning the funds.

The prize money can only be used for the film and we can request receipts and invoices where necessary.
No AI can be used in the writing of the script.
We reserve the right to modify fees prior to deadlines, so make sure to submit early to guarantee the current set price points.
Winner will be responsible for ensuring tax is paid on the prize money where applicable.
The assigned executive producer will be able to feedback on the script and cut of the film and request necessary changes and reserves the right to request final cut rights.
If winner cannot be contacted within 30 days, an alternate winner may be selected.
