#ArtSpeaksOut
Global Open Call for Climate VideoArt & Contemplative Short Films
#ArtSpeaksOut continues its commitment to supporting urgent climate dialogue through video art, tracing its roots back to the pivotal moment of COP21 in Paris 10 years ago — a historic moment when countries came together to promise action on climate change through the Paris Agreement. With the climate crisis intensifying and many past promises still unmet, we unite once more ahead of COP30 in Brazil to amplify the vital voices of artists from around the world.
We are warmly inviting video artists, filmmakers, and moving-image creators across the globe to submit works that respond to the climate crisis, reflect on environmental themes, and align with the spirit of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Whether your piece addresses urgent challenges, envisions new possibilities, celebrates the natural world, or offers a unique personal vision — all thoughtful and creative expressions are encouraged.
We welcome a wide spectrum of styles and genres — including video art, experimental shorts, video poetry, music videos, visually-driven documentaries/re-edited excerpts, reimagined archival footage, etc. — with a strong emphasis on visual storytelling, as some screenings may be presented without sound.
Videos can be up to 30 minutes long and preferably formatted in 16:9 landscape.
Selected works will be:
🌍 Streamed globally on ikonoTV during COP30;
🎬 Presented at live screening events during COP30 in Belém, Brazil (10–21 November 2025) (partners to be confirmed);
🌀Featured in “Coalition,” a four-month exhibition in Florianópolis, Brazil, curated by Sara Dufour, Lauranne Germond, and Marc Pottier — an immersive space for dialogue and reflection on climate and humanity’s shared future.
Join us in this collective creative movement, where art and activism meet — voices united by hope, vision, and the urgent need to protect not only our planet, but humanity’s future. In times when politics disappoint, art continues to speak.✨
