ABOUT QUEERCORE
With origins dating back to the 80s (fashion’s gayest era) the subculture of Queercore grew as an offshoot of punk music. Challenging societal norms, exploring the nuances of the LGBTQIA+ community and creating another space for self expression.
Summing up a festival in one word is hard to get perfect, but we agreed that everything curated for this subset of film culture would always be queer-at-it’s-core. Whether its flavour is bi-core, ace-core, camp-as-frick-core, the aesthetics and creators always came back to the diverse and ever-evolving queer community.
Brought to you by Chronosonder Productions, two of Adelaide’s favourite Jasmin(e)s bring their knowledge and enthusiasm for film and events together to connect audiences with creators.

“Special Ingredient Award”
As we all know it is very rare that one person is solely responsible for the creation of a film. Our industry is inherently collaborative and so many people put time and effort into making a film (especially in an emerging crew).
We value the discernment and skill of emerging producers, and so encourage each film’s producer to nominate a member of the cast or crew who went above and beyond - the MVP (most valuable player). Someone who they believe should be recognised, supported and invested in.
This award demonstrates the ethos’ of Feast and Chronosonder, highlighting that each role on a film set is valuable as it contributes to the diverse range of voice and storytellers.
Presented by The Piccadilly, The Special Ingredient Award is an investment into the next generation of filmmakers (no matter their role) to help them to continue to develop their craft and bring their future work to the screen by awarding them $1K cash for their next endeavour.
